PSVs causing concern
Several areas across the country in which public service vehicles, PSVs operate have become problematic and are of concern for the Transport Authority and the Barbados Police Service. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Works, Santia Bradshaw has identified River Road, in The City and Warrens as among the areas officials constantly hear complaints for. Ms. Bradshaw was at the time leading off debate on the Transport Authority Amendment Bill 2024. Minister of Home Affairs and Information, Wilfred Abrahams welcomed the amendments saying a word to the wise is sufficient. The amendment makes provision for the transport authority to cancel or suspend any licence issued in respect of authorising a person to drive or act as a conductor on a PSV, motor omnibus or route taxi. He shared a recent experience while travelling along Highway One.
