‘Public hysteria’: RBTU dismisses New Year’s Eve fireworks cancellation threat

RBTU New South Wales President Craig Turner has dismissed the Police Commissioner’s comments on Sydney’s New Year’s Eve fireworks being cancelled as “public hysteria”. “With our actions on, it will be exactly the same New Year's Eve as it has run for at least the last 20 years,” Mr Turner said at a media conference on Friday. “People will get into town, it will be safe, and they will get home with their families. “This is public hysteria. “I’m just at a loss why the Police Commissioner would come out and say that it’s not going to happen.”
