The lives of 39-year-old Tammi Tonas Tammetha Bryant of Vaucluse Tenantry, St. Thomas and 37-year-old Akeem Ricardo Hunte of St. Judes, St. George, were cut short in a horrific crash early this morning. The accident, involving a single vehicle with four occupants occurred around 3:30 a.m. along Highway 7 on Hastings Main Road in Christ Church. Barbados has so far recorded eight road fatalities for the year. The latest victims bring the number to five in as many days. Bryant was pronounced dead at the scene while Hunte succumbed to his injuries at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Reports are the vehicle was travelling towards Bridgetown when on reaching a point in the road, it struck a wall next to the SoCo Hotel and careened into a utility pole. The driver and another passenger were also transported to hospital for medical treatment. Police Inspector Rodney Inniss is encouraging the public to be vigilant on the roads.
