Push continues for front-of-package warning labels
The Heart and Stroke Foundation is continuing its drive for octagonal front of package warning labels, given recent statistics on the impact of non-communicable diseases on Barbadians, including children. Interim Chief Executive Officer Greta Yearwood made it clear on CBC TV8's Mornin' Barbados, people have a right to know what's in their foods and what they are consuming. Overall, she says the campaign has been well received by Barbadians and stakeholders are confident it will encourage people to live healthier lifestyles. Ms. Yearwood says lobbying efforts for front of package warning labels continue with Government and CARICOM.
