Push to make healthy foods more affordable

Work is ongoing to make some healthy foods more affordable for Barbadians. The assurance from Co-chair of the Barbados Childhood Obesity Prevention Coalition, Nicole Griffith. Speaking during a press conference, she said the creation of a VAT-free basket of healthy goods is being spearheaded by Dr. Kia Lewis and the Department of Commerce. As the country continues to experience a chicken shortage, Ms. Griffith is encouraging Barbadians to consider alternative, yet affordable forms of protein.
