PWDs raise concerns over NIRA’s lack of accessible ID registration
People living with disabilities have raised concerns about the National Identification and Registration Authority's (NIRA) failure to create alternative methods for registering persons with disabilities, particularly those without thumbs, which are crucial for obtaining national IDs. Members of the National Umbrella for Youth with Disabilities say these challenges prevent them from acquiring security documents, hindering access to government services. However, NIRA has stated that in the next phase of national ID registration, they will introduce data capture technologies using eye iris scans for registration. #NTVNews #NTVTonight #NTVWeekendEdition Subscribe to Our Channel For more news visit http://www.ntv.co.ug Follow us on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/ntvuganda Connect with us on Messenger via m.me/NTVUganda
