Qantas accused of misleading customers over carbon-neutral fligths

Shadow Environment Minister Jonathon Duniam discusses the accusation Qantas’ carbon-neutral program is misleading customers. “To think you are offsetting any sort of environmental impact or carbon impact from jumping in a jet plane and ticking that box is just madness,” Mr Duniam told Sky News host Peta Credlin. “This is the problem with monetising this and the new markets emerging around how we are going to save the planet and prevent environment destruction from these nasty jet planes, cars, cows and all the other carbon bleaching things out there – It’s a bit like modern-day snake oil salespeople roaming around the countryside.”
