QEH presses ahead with upgrades to A&E
From this weekend, there will be additional changes at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital as it presses ahead with the upgrades to the Accident and Emergency Department. Communications Specialist Shane Sealy says this comes as the third phase of work has been completed. He was speaking on CBC's 'Let's Talk About It' call-in programme on Q100.7fm. Other senior officials from the public health care institution were panellists on today's show. During the show, hospital officials shared some of the measures in place to reduce demand for the A&E. One of them includes running a 12-hour help desk. Manager of Patient Relations Dr. Rhea Corbin-Harte says it acts as a filter for cases and a source of advice among other things.
