Queensland COVID hospital admissions double in two weeks

The number of people hospitalised with COVID-19 in Queensland has doubled over the past two weeks. The state’s chief health officer is warning it's in the middle of a wave of the virus as it continues to mutate. Surveillance testing has shown the XEC variant of the virus is now the most prevalent strain.
