Queensland experiences seventh hottest day in over 100 years

Queensland has broken six weather records in 2023. The Sunshine State sizzled through above average temperatures all year - making it the seventh-hottest year since 1910. The hottest day was at Winton Airport on December 30 - where the mercury nudged 47 degrees. This year, Birdsville has already beaten its own temperature record – reaching 46.8C on January 13. Meteorologists believe the warmer weather could stay around until mid-autumn.
