Speaking at the House of Commons on Tuesday, Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre condemned U.S. president-elect Donald Trump’s recent and “unjustified threat” to impose a 25 per cent tariff on all products coming into the U.S. from Canada and Mexico once he returns to the Oval Office. “Our economy is teetering on the brink of collapse, and now we face this renewed threat,” Poilievre said. “We need a plan to put Canada first.” He also called upon Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to “put partisanship aside” and fix the economy by abolishing his government’s carbon pricing policy, among several other initiatives. Responding to a reporter asking if Canada could rely less on the U.S., Poilievre said “we could fantasize about other trade partners, but I’m interested in reality.” For more info, please go to https://globalnews.ca/news/10888459/trump-tariff-canada-reaction/ Subscribe to Global News Channel HERE: http://bit.ly/20fcXDc Like Global News on Facebook HERE: http://bit.ly/255GMJQ Follow Global News on X HERE: http://bit.ly/1Toz8mt Follow Global News on Instagram HERE: https://bit.ly/2QZaZIB #GlobalNews #Canada #Trade #Economy
