"Crazy traumatic": Herd of elk trample over BC man's car on Vancouver Island
A Vancouver Island man feels lucky to be alive after an unfortunate wildlife encounter. Elk are common on northern island highways, but this event was hardly usual. Jeremy Puder was driving near Port Port McNeill, B.C., when he says around 25 to 30 elk suddenly started running across the road out of the darkness on Dec. 21. "The elk came out, and they hit me, and we danced together on the road," he said. "It's funny now, but it was crazy traumatic, man." As Global's Alissa Thibault reports, it's what the animals did during the encounter that caused the man to shake his head.
