Green Party Leader Elizabeth May said on Monday that her and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh's interpretations of an unredacted report on foreign election interference by National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians (NSICOP) did not contradict one another, despite their initial reactions being widely seen as opposing assessments. "As long as one accepts the correction or clarification from his office that he's speaking of past and not current, then both of our interpretations can stand together without contradictions," she said. May added that regarding her reaction to the original comments from CSIS, "I said at the time, there have been beneficiaries of foreign governments interfering in nomination contests. I stand by that." "Mr. Singh, I think, is not saying something entirely contradictory, although he's more willing to use words about unethical or potentially criminal. I don't think those words apply. But again, differences between our views of how we react, how we interpret, and what is in the unredacted full report are really very, very small indeed," May said.
