French President Emmanuel Macron toured the newly restored Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris on Friday, half a decade after a fire ripped through the 860-year-old Gothic building, destroying its iconic spire. Macron walked through the UNESCO World Heritage Site Friday, taking in the meticulous, €700 million (more than C$1 billion) restoration. “Yes, we had never seen such a project. You have all participated in the project of the century," Macron said in his address to the artisans.
