New cases of a so-called "sloth virus" known as oropouche are appearing across Europe in Spain, Italy and Germany. At least one scientist says the dengue-like disease could potentially become endemic in tropical Singapore. It spreads through bites from mosquitoes and midges, and originated from infected sloths, monkeys and birds in South America. Dr Annelies Wilder-Smith, Visiting Professor at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, tells us what is known about the strain that is currently spreading and whether there is anything to worry about when travelling.
