Sierra Leone’s Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has visited the scene of a collapsed seven-storey building on Bai Bureh Road, Shell New Road in Freetown. Vice President Jalloh said: “Government is working to establish a Building Code that has been absent in the country since independence. Moving forward, the government will give additional authorities to the lands ministry to enforce those Building Codes. We will also ensure that all buildings that are of high risk for disaster, will be demolished. Let the search and rescue mission continues to recover more people and after that, government will investigate the cause of the disaster”.
