Tens of millions of Americans are casting their votes for either the pairing of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, or that of Donald Trump and JD Vance. The campaign has ended for a hard-fought race for the White House, and the winner will likely be decided by just a handful of states. Where US voters actually vote may be more consequential than who they actually vote for -- because of the electoral college. Opponents of the electoral college system say it causes candidates to focus their campaigning disproportionately in a few swing states, such as Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. Caroline Malone reports from Philadelphia.
