Inspired by Shahu Patole’s words, "No one knows what Dalits eat," Gandhi spent an afternoon with Ajay Tukaram Sanade and Anjana Tukaram Sanade at their home in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Together, they cooked traditional dishes like 'Harbharyachi Bhaji' (a vegetable made from chickpea greens) and 'Tuvar Dal' with brinjal. During their time in the kitchen, they also engaged in a meaningful conversation about caste discrimination, the social significance of Dalit cuisine, and the need for its documentation.
