Calling it "unconstitutional", a five-judge Constitution bench of the Supreme Court on Thursday struck down the electoral bonds scheme that allowed anonymous donations to political parties. The highly-anticipated judgement, which comes just months ahead of the Lok Sabha election, ruled that the electoral bonds scheme violated freedom of speech and expression under Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution.
