Futsal - Defending Mengo City’s impressive journey in the 2024/25 betPawa Futsal Super League continued on Friday evening as the league entered its 10th matchday. The team’s remarkable turnaround has seen them win eight consecutive games, after failing to secure a victory in their first two matches. Mengo City’s latest triumph came in style, as they thrashed Busunju Spaks with a resounding 8-0 win at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena. Six players were on the scoresheet for the Stomers with that being a testament to their attacking prowess and their ability to share the goals among their players. This win takes them to 25 points from 10 games, solidifying their position as one of the top contenders in the league. The surprise of the day came from bottom placed side, Edgars Youth Programme who finally broke their duck, with a 5-3 victory over Lubaga Grameen. Youngster Brian Olwa was the star man in his victory, netting a first-half hat-trick to set his team on the path to victory. In other games, Park FC maintained their lead at the top of the table with a 3-0 win over rivals, Kisenyi FC. Micheal Abura came off the bench to score twice, helping his team secure their ninth victory of the season. QC Mbarara who are impressing in 2025, continued their resurgence coming from behind to win 3-2 over Crown Lubiri. Meanwhile Kabuusu Clouds beat Kabowa Dream Team 4-2. Nansana ASKA also secured a hard-fought victory over Kisugu FC, adding to the excitement of the matchday. Park FC, Mengo City and Crown Lubiri are the three teams currently occupying the top spots.
