Realization of TVET's potential for employment –Gov’t invests 85.8 b to expand technical instit

The Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Museveni, has reaffirmed the government's commitment to enhancing its capacity to provide suitable alternative opportunities for the growing number of Ugandan youth transitioning from basic education. While handing over nine technical institutes for expansion works, she emphasized that the TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) sub-sector is slowly shedding its negative reputation, with more people realizing its potential for both formal and informal employment.
