‘Rearrange diaries’: Royal Family distancing from politics following election announcement

Daily Mirror Royal Editor Russell Myers says the Royal Family are having to distance themselves from political parties over the recent announcement of the UK general election. “It is something the Royal Family try to distance themselves from when the general election was announced,” he said. “The Royal Family had to sort of rearrange their diary; they can’t be seen to be currying favour with any political party, apolitical as the Royal Family are.”
