Red Shoe Project launched
Studies show globally one in three women experience gender-based violence in their lifetime. And in many Caribbean countries, one in two women experience gender-based violence. On Friday, students and partners of the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus gathered on the Guild lawns for the Red Shoe Project. Each pair of shoes represents a women or girl who has survived an attack, and will be installed as part of an art exhibition at nine locations across the island beginning November 25. This is in recognition of the International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women. Rachelle Agard has that story.
