Regional Ferry Coming

Discussions are underway for a regional ferry service between the islands of Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago to Guyana. Chairman of CARICOM and Guyana's President, Dr. Irfaan Ali, said the three Governments have formed a new company. Through this company a regional passenger and cargo ferry system will be introduced. Speaking at a contract signing event for the new US$35 million Mackenzie/Wismar Bridge in Region 10 in Guyana on Friday, Dr. Ali said the company was formed on Thursday. Dr. Ali said the details of the joint venture are still under discussion by the three Governments.
