Remembering late Jimmy Carter's post-presidential peace efforts
Former US President Jimmy Carter has died at the age of 100. The Nobel Peace Prize laureate served one term as president of the United States from 1977 to 1981. Carter was diagnosed with cancer which later spread from his liver to his brain. He had been receiving hospice care since February 2023. By most accounts, Jimmy Carter's presidency was marred by conflict. But, for all his eroding popularity while in office, Carter may be best remembered for his work after he left office. Carter was a tireless crusader for human rights, and worked to resolve conflicts around the world. Al Jazeera’s Kimberly Halkett reports.
