Rescue efforts underway for stranded whales at New Zealand bay

Volunteers are working to rescue a pod of 30-40 long-finned pilot whales stranded at Golden Bay in central New Zealand. At least two of the whales have already died. The New Zealand Department of Conservation is collaborating with volunteers and Project Jonah to ensure the stranded whales remain as wet and comfortable as possible while they prepare for potential refloating. #whales #NewZealand #rescue #projectjonah
