Residents flee as wildfires ravage Los Angeles

The City of Los Angeles has declared an emergency, as the powerful Santa Ana winds fuel an explosive wildfire in the coastal Pacific Palisades neighborhood, that has forced 30,000 residents to evacuate. At least five fires were burning in Los Angeles County on Thursday, Jan. 9, and have scorched more more than 40 square miles, according to Cal Fire.
