Retiring Assistant Ambulance Officer 'forever grateful'
After over 30 years of service, Assistant Ambulance Officer Nigel Gooding has signed off into retirement. The accolades were many as his fellow workmates paid tribute Wednesday at a retirement celebration held in his honour. Gooding, who began as an EMT in 1989, retired on Tuesday. Reminiscing on when they first met, friend and former EMT partner, Charles Legall remembers Gooding as a dedicated man. After passing the baton to the newest Assistant Ambulance Officer, Mr. Gooding delivered his farewell speech. He thanked those at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital he worked with throughout his career, revealing he drew his inspiration from them. Mr. Gooding says it has been a privilege to serve.
