Richard Marles attending NATO an ‘important opportunity’ for him

Assistant Trade Minister Tim Ayres says Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles “will be attending” the NATO summit. “It’s an important summit … it will be an important opportunity for him to engage with global leaders and his defence counterparts,” Mr Ayres told Sky News Australia. “We make these decisions in the national interest really carefully, really soberly – overseas travel is important for Australia, and it’s got to be done in the right way.”
