Rising global suicide rates highlight need for youth mental health support

Many countries continue to grapple with alarming suicide rates, especially among the young. Globally, more than 720,000 people die by suicide every year. The World Health Organization says several Asian countries are grappling with high suicide rates. South Korea, Japan, Sri Lanka and India have each reported figures per 100,000 people that are alarming.
