Road-rail bridge linking China's largest archipelago begins construction

The Zhoushan Archipelago, the largest archipelago in China, comprises of more than 1,300 islands. Upon completion, the dual-use Fuchimen Bridge is expected to carry vehicles alongside trains on the over-1,700 meter long Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway line and link Zhuoshan Island with the smaller Fuchi Island to the west. The entire Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway project is expected to be operational by 2028, spanning some 76 kilometers and carrying trains traveling up to 250 kilometers per hour.
