Russia maybe able to ‘adapt’ to Biden’s new sanctions

Furman University Politics Professor Dr Danielle Vinson says Joe Biden’s new sanctions on Russia will “take a while to kick in” and Russia may be able to “adapt to them”. US President Joe Biden has announced more than 500 sanctions on Russia over its war in Ukraine and the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. “He has announced those sanctions,” Dr Vinson told Sky News Australia. “It looks like they’re going to try to focus on the supply lines to Russia’s military and industrial operations. “Unfortunately, sanctions often take a while to kick in and sometimes countries are able to find ways to adapt around them, so we’ll see how significant that actually turns out to be.”
