Russian captain of ship in North Sea crash appears in court
The Russian captain of a cargo ship that collided with an oil tanker in the North Sea on 10 March has been placed in custody after appearing in court regarding the death of a crew member. 59-year-old Vladimir Motin faces charges of gross negligence manslaughter. Meanwhile, the crew member who was lost at sea and is presumed dead has been identified as Filipino national Mark Angelo Pernia.
