Saint Lucia Observes World Children's Day Under the Theme 'Listen to the Future'
Today Saint Lucia joins the global community in commemorating World Children’s Day, celebrated annually on November 20. This year’s theme, ‘Listen to the Future’, emphasizes the importance of empowering children to voice their dreams, opinions, and aspirations while promoting their active participation in decision-making processes. In an address to mark the occasion, the Minister for Equity, Social Justice and Empowerment, Hon. Joachim Henry, underscored the significance of this year’s observance, which coincides with the 35th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). Minister Henry noted that listening to children is essential for shaping policies that respond to their unique needs and aspirations, creating a brighter, more inclusive future.
