Science behind salmonella: Quaker Oats latest company to recall products over contamination fears

"Salmonella is a very common type of bacteria, but there are many different strains," says Joseph McPhee, a biomedical sciences professor at the Toronto Metropolitan University. This most recent (cantaloupe) outbreak is caused by an unusual strain of salmonella and we actually don’t know much about how it causes disease.” For more info, please go to https://globalnews.ca/news/10173609/cantaloupe-salmonella-plant-mexico/ Subscribe to Global News Channel HERE: http://bit.ly/20fcXDc Like Global News on Facebook HERE: http://bit.ly/255GMJQ Follow Global News on Twitter HERE: http://bit.ly/1Toz8mt Follow Global News on Instagram HERE: https://bit.ly/2QZaZIB #GlobalNews #cantaloupe
