Senators allied to the Azimio coalition are demanding the presentation of the affordable housing bill to counties for public participation before any further deliberations. The senators who stormed out of a legislative retreat accused speaker Amason Kingi of stifling debates and rushing through unconstitutional bills. The Law Society of Kenya has thrown its weight behind the lawmakers promising to sue the Kenya Revenue Authority for illegally deducting the housing levy.
