Senior Minister calling on local banks to be less risk-averse

Senior Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Dr. the Honourable William Duguid is calling on local banks to be less risk-averse, and allow people to use debentures as collateral. He says there is liquidity in the banks of 14 billion dollars, who make money from charging fees rather than giving loans. He was speaking during his contribution to the Business Barbados Bill, 2024.
