Settlers increase lead

Defending champions Settlers, have increased their lead in the BIM 10 Cricket tournament, after winning Wednesday's top-of-the-table clash with Pelicans. Batting first at Windward, Settlers were kept to 105 for 6 from their 10 overs. Kadeem Alleyne had the highest score of 29 with a four and 3-sixes, while Chemar Holder took 2 for 9, Ravendra Persaud 2 for 15, and Jaden Edmund 2 for 37. Pelicans did not capitalise on their bowling effort, as they were restricted to 81 for 9 to lose by 24 runs. Rico Reifer was the leading batter with 24, while Marlon welcome-Goodman impressed with 4 for 11 and Zachery Carter 2 for 10. Settlers move to 16 points, while Pelicans remain on 12. Meanwhile, in the bottom-of-the-table clash, the Voyagers are the ones still winless, as they were beaten by Titans by 30 runs. Titans posted an impressive 144 for 4, with Shian Brathwaite leading the way with 48 that included 6-fours and 3-sixes, while skipper Ashley Nurse added 35 with 3-fours and 3-sixes. Voyagers were limited to 114 for 3 to lose by 30 runs. Shamarh Brooks topscored with 62 not out, including 4-fours and 5-sixes. The Titans are fifth on four points, while the Voyagers are yet to get a point after four losses.
