Severe flooding causes devastation in Central Europe

Central Europe has been hit by severe flooding due to heavy rain, leading to overflowing rivers and widespread damage. In southwest Poland's Klodzko county, one person drowned and 1,600 individuals were evacuated as local rivers reached record high levels. In eastern Romania, at least four people lost their lives and thousands of homes were damaged. The northern Czech Republic also experienced severe flooding as rivers overflowed and some areas faced the most destructive floods in decades. In Lipova Lazne, local resident Pavel Bily said it was the worst he'd seen since 1997. Meanwhile, Austria declared the entire federal state of Lower Austria a disaster area following heavy rainfall.
