Shadow environment minister calls for cost-of-living policy changes

Shadow Environment Minister Jonathon Duniam has warned policy changes are needed to combat the cost-of-living and increased power bills following the government's $172 billion budget improvement. “Spending is a function of government,” Mr Duniam told Sky News Australia. “Appropriate spending is how you determine whether it is good or bad spending.” Mr Duniam discussed the government’s second back-to-back surplus but encouraged policy changes in the energy ‘debate’. “The government have got a surplus for the second year in a row and good on them,” he said. “These measures around cost-of-living, this is where policy changes need to occur including in the energy debate.”
