Simba cement joins UNBS to tackle fake cement

Simba Cement, one of the leading cement producers in the country, has joined the National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) in the fight against counterfeit cement, which has significantly affected cement factories in Uganda. Recently, UNBS raised concerns about a thriving trade in fake cement in the local market, negatively impacting Uganda’s construction industry. This warning followed UNBS laboratory tests showing that some cement on the market is mixed with other substances.
