Singapore aims to keep Straw-headed Bulbul from going extinct
Singapore is making moves to protect one of Asia's most charismatic songbirds -- the Straw-headed Bulbul -- from going extinct. The species is critically endangered, with fewer than 1,700 remaining globally. Singapore alone supports about one third of the global population. A five-year plan by the National Parks Board and Singapore's Nature Society will include monitoring the preferred habitat of these birds. They are also raising public awareness to conserve the species.
