Small Beginnings Summer Music Workshop 2024

This year’s Small Beginnings Youth Orchestra Summer School in Montserrat brought together young musicians for an enriching two-week workshop from August 12th to 22nd. A small team from the Guernsey Music Service, led by Mr. Tim Wright, collaborated with the Small Beginnings team to facilitate the workshop, held at the Montserrat Cultural Center Cultural Centre. The workshop emphasized the importance of musical education and cultural exchange between Montserrat and Guernsey. The young participants developed their skills across various instruments, from percussion and strings to woodwind and brass, and even showcased their vocal talents. The video captures highlights from the entire workshop, from the early rehearsals to the final concert on August 23rd, where 44 children performed in a stunning orchestra finale.
