Liberal Senator Claire Chandler says Australians have seen “so many failures” from the Albanese government because it has its “priorities absolutely wrong”. Thousands of jobs are at risk following the insolvency of nearly 1,650 manufacturing companies in the last six months. At the last election, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said he wanted to bring manufacturing back to Australia. “I think the main reason we’re seeing a failure here is because we’ve seen so many failures of this government, and we know that’s because they have their priorities completely wrong,” Ms Chandler told Sky News host Peta Credlin. “In the lead-up to the last election, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was more than happy to say he was going to rebuild the manufacturing industry in Australia by the end of his first term of government. “We’re halfway through that term now and, on those numbers, our manufacturing industry is only going backwards – companies are leaving Australian shores, and we instead spent the first 18 months of the Albanese government talking about his failed Voice referendum. “This is another example of this government having its priorities absolutely wrong, and Australians are losing out as a result.”
