Social media minimum age bill hopes to make major platforms 'safer' for young people
Liberal MP Zoe McKenzie claims the government and the Opposition have "worked together" on the social media minimum age bill in hopes of making the main platforms "safer" for young people. "The government and the Opposition have worked together to work out what's in, what's out – originally Snapchat was not going to be in but now it is going to be in, that's the right move," Ms McKenzie told Sky News Australia. "We've kept an open mind of what can and should be in - the government has said through delegated legislation, you will be able to add or take away from those platforms that we've designated in this first instance. "Let's hope by making the main platforms safer for young people that we are protecting our kids."
