Solar energy’s ‘enormous’ storage costs analysed

Sky News host Caleb Bond discusses the “enormous” costs for storing solar-produced energy amid warnings over threats to power grid safety and security from over-production of solar power. “Of course we are told this is sustainable energy but of course this is so terribly sustainable in order to make the whole thing work we have got to fire up diesel,” Mr Bond said. “There is theoretically no reason rooftop solar should not be able to power much of the country but you need to be able to store that energy … the cost of storing that energy right now is enormous.”
