20 years after the end of apartheid, South Africa remains a country marked by racial division. Shortly after the death of Nelson Mandela on December 5, 2013, director Stéphanie Lamorré filmed for several weeks the commitment of young people born after 1994, called the “Born Free”. They were preparing to vote for the first time in the presidential election in May 2014. For some, Mandela is a distant memory, for others an icon. But they all talk about freedom and democracy. However, behind the hope, there is the failure of a society where whites and blacks still do not mix. An intimate and endearing film about this new generation of South Africans. Director: Stéphanie Lamorré
