South Korea's Air Force chief apologizes over misfire accident | ABS CBN News

South Korea's Air Force chief issued an apology Monday after a KF-16 jet accidentally dropped eight 500-pound (225kg) Mk82 bombs outside the shooting range during joint live-fire exercises in Pocheon. "I bow my head and extend my apology for destroying the peaceful daily lives of the people, injuring them and damaging property due to the unprecedented misfire bomb accident," South Korea Air Force chief of staff Lee Young-Su said. Footage carried by local broadcasters showed several houses damaged during the incident, some with debris and shards of glass strewn across the floor. Residents in the area have protested about the disturbance and potential danger from nearby training grounds for years.
