South Korean trainee doctors are staging one of their biggest labour actions in years. More than 1,600 of them have stopped work in protest at a government plan to increase the number of medical students. It is feared the large-scale action could hurt the nation's healthcare system. President Yoon Suk-yeol has urged the doctors to call off their strike, maintaining there will be no delay to the increase in admissions to medical schools.
