SpaceX fails to repeat Starship booster catch during sixth test flight
SpaceX launched the sixth test flight of its giant Starship rocket on Tuesday. Unlike last month's success, the Super Heavy booster was directed to a splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico. Objectives of the new test include the booster once again returning to the launch site for catching and reigniting a ship Raptor engine while in space, among others. However, SpaceX did not achieve the return of the booster back on the launch site as planned. Instead, SpaceX opted to land it in the Gulf of Mexico. The causes of the failure remains unclear.
